What makes a good leader?
There are many different types of leaders in the world. Leaders include the presidents of countries and international organisations, captains of local sporting teams, conductors of orchestras, school principals and chairpersons of small community groups. But what is leadership? What characteristics make a good leader?
You might have heard the phrase, ‘Lead by example’. In other words, leaders show by their actions a positive example that inspires others to copy them. This means that leadership comes more from how you act and what you do, rather than from the title someone has given you.

You don’t have to be world famous to show leadership. Everyone can show the qualities of leadership by the actions they take to make a difference, this could be in the school ground, the sporting field, or your local community centre.
