Welcome workshops
Our welcome workshops are designed to guide teachers who are either new or returning to delivering VCE Politics or VCE Sociology in the classroom. These are facilitated by teams of teachers experienced in the study design, providing tips and tricks for tackling these subjects, taking into developments in case studies and available content into account.
Our welcome workshops typically take place in February of each year. These typically involve sessions offered for both Year 11 and Year 12 for each subject. Being workshops, we generally try to hold these as in-person events to maximise the opportunity to engage in interactive and team-based activities.
SEV member schools are entitled to a 33% discount on registering for our welcome workshops and other events through the year. If your school isn’t already registered as a member, click here to review our membership options.
In February 2026 we're hosting the following welcome workshops in person at Graduate House in Carlton. Each is priced at $160 for members / $240 for non-members. Each session runs for 90 minutes plus a 20 minute Q+A, with dinner provided by the venue served in between.
